Plumbing!

Who ever thought I would be so excited about a plumber??! Well, they came yesterday!

November 9, 2011

The pipes sticking up to the far left is the master bathroom plumbing
and the 3rd bathroom that is in the hall by the office.

The ones closest to me to the left are where the laundry room
will be and the ones to the right will be the hall bath on the 'kids' side'.
The pipes further back are for the kitchen.

Next up: a slab!

Selections!

We have started to pick out selections for the house! So far, we've done interior lighting, interior plumbing, doors & windows & garage door. We've talked about siding color & trim, but haven't nailed it down yet. Here's some pictures of what we have so far!

Flooring
(This will be in the entry, dining room, living room, hallways & office. We are still working on carpet for the bedrooms & tile for the kitchen, bath & laundry room)

Just a standard deep sink in the utility room
The kitchen sink will actually be a black-ish color.

Garage Door

Lighting over breakfast nook table

Lighting over dining room table

Lighting in entry way (pretty much same as breakfast nook, just smaller/not as long)

Bathroom Fixtures(some will have 4 instead of just 2)
All of our finishes are oil rubbed bronze(some of these pics I couldn't find the right finish. Like the bathroom fixture above is a bit darker than what is pictured). It has been SO fun & exciting! Matt and I have agreed on everything...I'm so lucky because he really is not picky. Can't wait for whatever is next! :)

We have forms!

We can finally see some physical progress on our house! We've had a few meetings with the builder & signed off on the final draft...so things are starting to move forward. They did the dirt work first, then started on the forms. The top of the wood you see is where the slab will be.

Forms! Woohoo!
Should have a slab some time within a week...

Halloween!

I LOVE Fall. The weather & the smells always take me back to mine & Matt's engagement period leading up to our wedding that was in December. It just makes me excited! And now that we have Owen, it is even more fun to do all the kid stuff that goes along with Fall.

Here's our jack o lantern we (I) carved!

We went to a fun Fall Festival at Parrot Park in Lindale that I didn't get any pics of, but we had a good time with the Albrittons, Carnathans & Englishes.

The next night we went to our Fall Festival at church! It was tons of fun! Owen really loved all the games. He said his favorite game was the duck pond! :)

Ring Toss

Here are all of the kiddos! Luke, David, Reed, Avery, Aubrey, Owen & Davis

Owen was a cowboy this year for Halloween. He wore it to St. Luke's one day, West Erwin Playschool one day, the Fall Festival at our church AND trick or treating! So I'd say we've gotten our money's worth out of that cowboy outfit! :)

Here he is showing it off! :)

Halloween was on a Monday night & we trick or treated in the Highlands Subdivision with the Carnathans, Englishes, Wallaces & Smiths.

Look at all the bOyS!!

He said "Chick uhr Trweeeeeat!"

Mommy the clown, Owen the Cowboy, Daddy the 'Bubba!'

Look at all my candy!
We had a great Halloween with family & friends! When we got in the car to head home, Owen exclaimed, "Dat was FUN!" Mission accomplished. :)

'Fun Family Get Away' Weekend

Matt had been wanting to get down to the deer lease to get his corn out & feeders set up, so Owen & I tagged along! After getting dirty at the lease, we headed back in to town to find a hotel. :) Mommy has become a little high maintenance..but if you saw what we were going to have to sleep in, you would've headed into town, too! So the next day we headed to the Ft. Worth Zoo. I had never been and it was SO cool! Nice & big and very pretty. We will have many more trips there in the future, I'm sure. Below is our weekend in Instagram. :)

Our tour guide & driver for the weekend, Daddy!

Pretty scenes from the road!

As we are driving down the road, Matt says in his best tour guide voice,
"To the left you will notice the SMALLEST Walmart in the world." hahaha!
I cracked up & had to snap a pic because it was TINY! :)
~Ballinger, Texas~

Made it to the deer lease! Owen is ready for fun in the Rhino! Isn't he the
cutest in his little camo pants & boots?!

The beautiful sunset on the way back into town.

On the road again...headed to Ft. Worth Zoo!

We made it! Ready for a fun day at the zoo!

Owen LOVED all the fish!

We had a blast with just our little family of 3! Came home from the fun weekend & met with our builder, signed off on the 2nd draft of our plan and went over a million details and get to pick out plumbing fixtures today! We should have a slab in 3-4 weeks! SO excited and ready to see some progress! We are truly blessed with a sweet little life. Wouldn't change a thing!

YAY! A new chapter for the Kellys!

Well..after six years of saving and being crammed in our small, (but sweet!) house, we are moving!! We are just so thrilled. God has truly blessed us and our patience has paid off! We are moving to a small little neighborhood called Corrigan Trails just a couple miles from where we are now. We will be a bit closer to my brother & sister-in-law & our nephews (and future niece!).

The house is going to be started sometime in September and should be finished Jan/Feb. We'll see! :) Below is a picture of our lot, or as I like to call it, our future yard! :)

The 2 things I love about the neighborhood: 1) It's gated, which just makes me feel a little better with as much as Matt travels. 2) It has a community POOL!! WOOHOO! The house will be walking distance from the pool, but we don't have to take care of one in our backyard. :) Here's a pic of the pool:

Owen is going to LOVE that mushroom with the water falling down. It also has the nice cabana that you can see in the background with a men's & women's restroom & an outdoor shower for getting dirt off before hitting the pool & it has ceiling fans...which is a nice addition for these Texas Summers. I'm so excited about it and am already thinking about having Owen's 3rd birthday party here next summer. Wait..3rd birthday party??? That cannot be. I must move on before I think about that too long.

Anyway, like I said, we are just over the moon and thankful for God's blessings. Also, I MUST give credit to my amazing, saving minded husband. Because of his vision, patience & commitment to saving, we are better off financially. I will admit it... I like to spend! I'm grateful that he told me "no" when he felt I needed to hear it. He makes me better.

I cannot wait to create our family memories here and I also cannot wait to use this future home for Bible studies, get togethers, showers, parties, family events, and anything else that comes along!

I suck at blogging.

I have not blogged since Owen was 2 months old. He will be 2 YEARS old in July. If that is not any indication to how crazy my life has been, I don't know what is! But I LOVE every second. Juggling it all and making it work just makes life that much more interesting! Here is a quick peek at Owen:
He is SO fun and says so many cute things. I just love him! That is all for today...guess I will touch base with the blog world in a year from now! :)
