House Wrap & Windows

Windows have been installed and exterior walls (decking?) has been put up. Pretty exciting! It is really looking like a house now! It is fun to go inside because most of the walls are completely framed. Owen already knows the rooms! If I tell him to go to his room, he knows right where it is. He also likes to point up the stairs to the game room and say "Dats where my toys go!" So cute! And yes, that is where they go and also where they STAY! NO toys in the living room in the new house!! :) I am so thankful that we will have that play space and we won't have to step over toys that are all over the living room. Here are some pics I took over the weekend!

View from the backyard. Excited about a covered
back porch and a large yard to play in!

More Progress!

Bonus room framed! Now its a lot easier to really see what the outside will look like. The far left side is the office and the far right is the garage. Our house is more long than it is wide because of the way our lot is. When drawing our original plan we had picked out, the draftsman had to take a lot of the rooms and 'turn' them to make them more long so that the house would fit on the lot and so we would be able to have a side entry garage. Can't wait to see what it will look like with the exterior finishes! But, that will be a while. Next up is the rest of the framing, then the decking on the roof, then windows & doors! After that, they will start electrical. It's a really exciting process so far. Can't wait to see more progress!

Holidays are here!

We had our Christmas card pictures taken last week by my sis-in-law, Bekah! She took them for us then I edited them. I think she did a great job!

Wishing you peace, love & joy!
The Kellys

Framing Started!

Framing on our house was started right after Thanksgiving! It is fun to walk through and actually see where each room will be.

First phase of framing...(from the street.)

Matt standing in the office..which is "his" and will be decorated
with all his "man room" items, like deer heads, sports memorabilia, etc.

One of my biggest complaints about our current house is the lack of closet space. Our house we are in now was built in 1970 and the closets are tiny. So here I am in our master closet! I can't even touch the walls! haha! Our closet is 'L' shaped, so Matt has a side & I have a side. Its perfect!

Owen in his room!

Here is the framing once some of the roof part was added. The bonus room
above the garage is still not framed. Should be added soon!

Next up is more framing, siding & carpentry!

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a great Thanksgiving holiday this year with both sides of our family! We ate lunch on Thursday at Nonna & Poppa's house with the Kelly, Stegall & Regian clans! There was a TON of us & it was nice to catch up with everyone.

Nonna & Poppa are the BEST hosts for any kind of party! Because there were so many of us, we ate in the gym...look how pretty the tables were!

Daddy & Owen

As you can see by the crumbs on his face,
he LOVED our Thanksgiving lunch!

Owen with his sweet cousin, Cade! We missed
all the other little Kelly boys! Can't wait for Christmas!

After lunch, Matt headed to the deer lease and Owen & I headed to Houston! Owen slept pretty much the whole way there...he hadn't had a nap yet and had just eaten ALL that yummy food..I woulda slept, too, if I could have! :)

He woke up the last hour and sang
Christmas songs with me! :)

Caden & Logan spent the night at GiGi & PaPaw's
so Owen could have someone to play with! We had a fun sleep over!
They are picking out what toys they want GiGi to buy. :)

Mom & I doing our Black Friday thing! Got some great deals!

Saturday night, Matt, Jen & I took the boys to see
Arthur Christmas. SUCH a cute movie! They all loved it..and even we did!

Then we helped GiGi get her tree set up & decorated!

Looking forward to enjoying the rest of the holiday season!

Slab Day!

We got a slab! Woohoo! I left work at lunch to pick up Owen & meet Matt at the site so we could put our handprints in our new slab. It is so exciting to see some physical progress!

Yes, I took a picture of the concrete truck. :)

They cannot get the concrete trucks up near the forms, so they
back them up to this pump truck & they can use the hose to put the concrete
where they want it.

Joshua 24:15
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living.
But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”

Here is Owen standing in his "room" on our slab!
Next up: framing! :)
